Ahmad Mian is the founder, President & CEO of FileControl Partners, Inc.,
a leader in litigation management products, solutions and services. Ahmad is the
visionary behind FileControl's technology development, an expert in strategic
planning and developing key business relationships. His commitment to integrity,
great work ethics, excellence and innovation are also mirrored in his personal journey
from being an immigrant 18 years ago, to the CEO of one of the fastest growing technology
companies. FileControl today is recognized by Microsoft as one of the most
innovative companies when it comes to using their enterprise level database software.
Prior to FileControl Partners, Ahmad was the President & Chief Technology
Officer of FileControl, Inc. - A Document Management and Workflow automation
company, which he sold to Ridgway's - a largest privately held reprographic company
in the US and stayed on as their CEO, and then successfully transformed the company
to a profitable and completely new line of business - Litigation Management.
Another recent launch, the Virtual Deal Room (VDR) product, with its use of innovative
technology, workflow efficiencies, and automations to quickly setup a Deal Room,
demonstrates his ability to see ahead of the curve. This is being hailed by Investment
Bankers in New York and London as the next generation VDR product.
Under Ahmad’s strong leadership, his partnerships and alliances have fueled company
growth of over 230% in the last few years. Thousands of users employ FileControl
solutions, with customers in Fortune 500 companies and law firms around the world.
Prior to founding FileControl, Ahmad was the Sr. Vice President & Chief Technology
Officer of Underwriters Indemnity Group where he pioneered various solutions to
insurance industry Information Technology challenges. These solutions enabled existing
employees’ productivity to keep pace with the company’s substantial growth. Mian
was a shareholder and was actively involved in the group’s sale to RLI Corp. (NYSE
Symbol “RLI”).
He has also been a consultant at the management level with companies like New York
Life, Exxon and Smead. In various engagements he was involved in evaluating their
existing business processes and advising them to develop enterprise wide technology
and software solutions which increased efficiency and made them innovators in the
market place.
Ahmad holds degrees in Electrical Engineering from UET, Lahore, Pakistan, Physics
and Mathematics from Pakistan and an MBA from Texas Tech University. Additionally,
he earned his advanced executive education from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
- Sloan School of Management.

- Recipient of the Outstanding South Asian Entrepreneur of the Year Award, 2010.
- Featured multiple times in the HBJ and a four time recipient of the FastTech 50
award (high-tech businesses that experienced the greatest percentage of revenue
growth, innovation and execution).
- The 2009 Enterprise Champion Finalist (This leadership award is presented to business
leaders whose exceptional companies demonstrate growth, industry leadership, innovation
and above-average company culture).
- Member of the Microsoft Technical Advisory Board, Texas Tech College of Business
Advisory Board & Member of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at LUMS (Lahore
University of Management Sciences, Pakistan).
- Authored and published several papers (including the breakthrough one in Decision
Support Systems, Volume 32 on “Agent-based architecture for intelligent information
retrieval in a distributed heterogeneous environment”).
- Featured in several leading IT magazines in Pakistan.
Founding Board Member of OPEN – HOUSTON (www.open-houston.org),
which is very near and dear to his heart, a non-profit organization, whose mission
is to advance and promote entrepreneurship and leadership in the Pakistani-American
business community.
