FileControl team to return to Microsoft headquarters to push the frontiers of SQL Server technology

Development team to test 13TB databases to offer faster searches on more data

A team of software developers will visit Microsoft's SQL Server lab in Redmond, Washington, in order to expand the capabilities of FileControl's vast databases. FileControl Partners Ltd, a leader in web-based knowledge and litigation management technology, is presently among the biggest users of Microsoft SQL Server 2005. With the increase in new clients requiring even greater database capacity, FileControl intends to test it's SQL Server database with data going into 13TBs. In collaboration with Microsoft's in-house experts, the FileControl team will modify existing architecture to improve speed, storage and robustness of FileControl solutions.

A recent visit to the SQL Server labs enabled the FileControl team to improve full-text searches on terabytes of data that were 25 times faster than before with an upgrade to SQL Server 2005. During the upcoming visit, the team hopes to test full-text searching using cataloges that are ten to twenty times larger than before.
