Early Case Assessment (ECA)
FileControl’s Early Case Assessment (ECA) product is an advanced, enterprise-wide investigation and e-Discovery solution. It provides forensic precision and evidence aware drill down search with an intuitive, easy to use interface. Built around a powerful indexing engine, all formats selected can be searched, culled and prepped for loading into an attorney review platform.
- Capable of ingesting MS Exchange EDB files and Encase forensic image formats quickly to provide answers in record time.
- ECA relies on legal accuracy with results that are consistent, repeatable and defensible conforming to industry standards of practice and preserving chain of custody.
- 100% Double Byte Unicode compliant, equally capable of processing documents and emails in English, CJK languages, Middle Eastern languages, Cyrillic and other languages and characters.
- ECA automatically syncs with Google Translate to reduce cost of supplemental reviews.
- ECA uses comprehensive search capabilities, including extensive filters which can cull and de-duplicate documents tagged for review.
- Documents can be moved directly from ECA to review workflow or analytics can be used to drive workflows.
Analytics & Attorney Review Workflow
FileControl uses advanced document categorization and semantic analytical techniques. These advanced features enable document review teams to quickly access, analyze, and organize, document sets and define attorney review workflow based on concept search results.
- Documents can be reviewed as Native or Images using dual screens, robust keyword search, tagging, redaction, and on demand reports. Document review for relevancy, privilege, and issues tagging can be managed by review teams in a structured review environment.
- FileControl’s proven document review platform now offers the latest in concept search and attorney review workflow. Concept search capability preserves contextual relationships and provides dynamic categorization that sorts and ranks data according to concepts. The concept search engine retrieves relevant documents based on a contextual understanding of documents, producing more accurate search results with fewer false positives and inclusive of context relevant hits.
- Searches learn by “alias” information to overcome obfuscation and use multi-lingual and cross-lingual text analysis to identify relevant documents.
- The new workflow features provide the review team with greater flexibility and control over multi-pass document review. Workflows organize documents and reviewers into high performance, and coherent process that enable review managers with progress monitoring and reports.
- Review management assigns documents to reviewers by custodian, search term, or concepts. Document sets flow between review stages based on relevancy coding and priority.
- Quality assurance of the review process is provided by random sampling of reviewed documents and document control is enhanced by “check in/out” of documents assigned to reviewers.
- Review management and review workflow is facilitated by on demand reporting.
Discovery Products and Services
FileControl designed and developed a highly secure review environment to host a
post-production database for a national multi-district, anti-trust litigation, supporting
eight terabytes of data, seventeen law firms, and over three hundred users.
On behalf of a global leader in the upstream energy industry, FileCotnrol consulted with in-house
counsel and multiple firms hired as outside counsel to develop a strategic approach
for reviewing documents relevant to multiple matters. The approach taken designed
the review process in such a way as to take advantage of work performed on one matter
so that it could be reused on multiple matters. This resulted in reduced costs and
promoted efficiency.
