Remote Scan Client (RSC) is a utility used for scanning documents and converting them to tiff images, and for uploading bulks of scanned images as batches into the Knowledge and Litigation Management System’s web-based document repository.

Creating / Breaking a Batch

Batches are collections of related documents grouped together so they can be imported easily. Users can include more than one document in a single batch, break larger batches into smaller ones, or make a separate batch for each document.

Image Enhancements on Scanned Batches

Documents in old company files can be weathered and unreadable. When scanned these images are not very neat. Remote Scan Client’s Image Enhancement Feature allows users to make the images more presentable and readable by providing tools such as Character smoother, line remover, border remover, text inversion, hole punch remover, dot remover and de-skew etc.

Annotations like drawing shapes, highlighting, redacting and adding text are offered to customize documents as per user requirements.

Associating Index Information with a Batch

FileControl’s Remote Scan Client has the ability to upload imported /scanned batches of documents directly into the specified folder if its index information has been provided. This saves considerable time and the user does not have to load each document individually.

Uploading Selected Batches

Users do not have to upload all batches into the application’s folder hierarchy. Some documents needed to be added urgently and RSC provides the ability to upload and import selected batches of documents, thus providing work continuity instead of having to wait for all the batches to be uploaded.

Import a Colored Image as a Black and White Image

FileControl’s Remote Scan Client allows users to import colored images in a black and white format, thereby compressing the colored images to decrease the over all size of the batch. However, the original colored image is not affected.

Bar Code Client

This feature allows users to provide batch and index information for documents before they are scanned, enabling users to automate the indexing process. You can print a separator page that contains the required batch and index information in bar code format. The page is then manually placed between the documents which are then sent for scanning. Once they arrive in Remote Scan Client, they are directed to their specified folders in FileControl Web Application.
