Q: How do I get help?
A: Select Contents and Index from the Help pull-down menu, or press F1.

Q: How do I select a scanner?
A: Select Options from the File pull-down menu to open Options window. Click the Select Scanner button under Scan tab. A Select Source window opens, listing all the installed scanners. Select your scanner from the list.

Q: What is a batch?
A: Batch is a group of pages scanned together. A batch may consist of one or more pages.

Q: How do I scan a batch?
A: Click the Scan New Batch icon from the main toolbar or select New Batch from the Scan pull-down menu, or press F3.

Q: How do I import a batch to Remote Scan Client?
A: Select Import Batch from the Scan pull-down menu, or press Ctrl+M. Click the Add Document icon to locate and add the file(s) you want to import. Click the Remove Document icon to remove a selected file from the list. If you want each file to be saved as a separate batch, click the “Each file is a new batch” check box to select the option. Click the Import button to save the file as a batch that will appear in the Scan Batch window. Click Done button, once the batch has been imported.

Q: How do I annotate a batch?
A: Select the batch you want to annotate, from the Scan Batch window. Navigate to the page on which you want to draw annotations, by using page navigation icons on the main toolbar. Use the annotation toolbar to draw annotations on the image.

Q: How do I perform the image enhancements on a scanned batch?
A: Select the batch and navigate to the page on which you want to perform image enhancements. FileControl Remote Scan Client provides different options for image enhancement. Click Smooth the characters icon, to smooth the characters. Click Line Removal icon to remove lines. Click the Border Removal icon to remove borders. Click the Text Inverter icon to reverse the text colors. Click Punch Hole Removal icon to remove punch holes from the image. Click Dot Removal icon to remove dots. Click Deskew icon to bring the image back to its original shape.

Q: How do I associate indexing information with a batch?
A: Select a batch, from the Scan Batch window with which you want indexing information to be associated. Select Associate Index from the Scan pull-down menu, or press F10.

Q: How do I select scan queue?
A: Select a scan queue from the list of queues in the dropdown menu, on the Scan Batch window.

Q: How do I upload all the batches on the FileControl application?
A: Select Send Accepted/Rejected Batches from the Scan pull-down menu, or press Ctrl+S.

Q: How do I upload selected batch(es) only, on the FileControl application?
A: Select Options from the File pull-down menu to open Options window. Click the Send/remove selected (remote scan client) checkbox, under Scan tab. On Scan Batch window, each batch is shown with a checkbox. Select the batch you want to upload by clicking the checkbox next to it. Select Send Accepted/Rejected Batches option from the Scan pull-down menu, or press Ctrl+S.

Q: How do I break a batch?
A: Select the batch you want to break, from the Scan Batch window. Select Break Up a Batch option from the Scan pull-down menu, or press Ctrl+K.

Q: How do I delete any particular batch(es)?
A: Select the batch you want to delete, from the Scan Batch window. Select Delete Batch option from the Scan pull-down menu, or press Ctrl+D. For multiple deletion of batches, select Options from the File pull-down menu to open Options window. Click the Send/remove selected (remote scan client) checkbox, under Scan tab. Click the check box next to every batch that you want to delete on the Scan Batch window.

Q: How do I check status of pending batch(es)?
A: Select Check Status for Pending Batches option from the Scan pull-down menu, or press F4.

Q: How do I remove batch(es) with “Pending” status?
A: Select Remove Pending Batches option from the Scan pull-down menu, or press Ctrl+J.

Q: How do I remove batch(es) with "Finished" status?
A: Select Remove Finished Batches option from the Scan pull-down menu, or press Ctrl+R.

Q: How do I print batch(es)?
A: Select the batch you want to print, from the Scan Batch window. Select Print option from the File pull-down menu, or press Ctrl+P. For printing multiple batches, select Options from the File pull-down menu to open Options window. Click the Send/remove selected (remote scan client) check box, under Scan tab. Click the check box next to every batch that you want to print, on the Scan Batch window.

Q: How do I update the folder tree?
A: From the Shortcut Bar, select Folder. Click the Refresh List icon on the main toolbar to update the folder tree.

Q: How do I switch to thumbnail view for a batch?
A: Select the batch you want to preview as thumbnail, from the Scan Batch window. Click the Show thumbnails icon for the selected batch, on the batch toolbar.

Q: How do I import a colored image as a black & white image?
A:Select Import Batch option from the Scan pull-down menu, or press Ctrl+M. If you want the file to be saved as a black and white image, select the Import Black and White ONLY option by clicking the check box next to it.

Q: How do I de-skew a batch while scanning or importing?
A: Select Options option from the File pull-down menu to open Options window. Select the Deskew Every Page check box under Scan tab.

Q: How do I print a separator page?
A: Launch FileControl Bar Code Client. On main screen, select the folder from the folder tree and specify indexing information. Click the Print button.

Q: How do I select stamp face?
A: Select Options option from the File pull-down menu, to open Options window. Select the stamp face option from Select Stamp face (annotation) dropdown menu, under Scan tab.

Q: How do I enable/disable startup tip dialog box?
A: Select Tip of the Day option from the Help pull-down menu. Check the Show Tips at Startup box to enable startup tip dialog, or uncheck the box to disable it.
